As part of our work with the New York-based Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP), we’ve developed a website for Public Access Design, a participatory design initiative launched by CUP in June 2012. Our site enables designers and community advocates to connect and collaborate, functioning as an online environment that nurtures socially and politically engaged design work. These collaborations can result in posters, booklets, videos, and interactive graphics, each intended to inform local communities about a complex policy or planning issue.

Our website includes an application process for both designers and advocates. Using our interface, a selected jury determines the designer-advocate pairing for each project.

The Public Access Design website is integrated into CUP’s main website, which we developed several months prior in 2012.

Designers: Apply here to be considered for the next pool of Public Access Design Fellows!
